The 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Memorial Dedication

The National Park Service recently marked the 150th Anniversary of the Dedication of the Emancipation Memorial in Washington, D.C.’s Lincoln Park. A beautiful afternoon, gathered a large audience, for the Unveiling Ceremony and the Panel Discussion that followed. The History Happens Blog, by Dorris Keeven-Franke, shared the entire event with photos of the day.

The event was attended by descendants of Archer Alexander, Donovan Cox (James Alexander), Leontyne and Lyle Peck (Wesley Alexander) who were presented with a wreath by the 54th U.S. Colored Troops Reenactors to lay at the Memorial.
